Protection of Children (Digital Safety and Data Protection) Bill

On Friday in the House of Commons I spoke in support of the Protection of Children (Digital Safety and Data Protection) Bill, and the vital need to tackle smartphone usage in schools.

This was also a great opportunity to highlight the incredible work of a campaign that started here in Suffolk Coastal – by Daisy and Joe, founders of Smartphone Free Childhood.

I know that campaigners are disappointed that all the recommendations didn’t get taken forward, but this is the beginning not the end. I look forward to supporting them on their next steps to keep this campaign moving forward.
