Yesterday in the House of Commons, I asked the Home Office for an update on the progress being made to tackle rural crime. I also raised the idea of setting up a rural task force to work across departments on these issues.

Fly tipping and the recent rise in heating oil theft are really affecting our rural communities. I was pleased to hear that the Government is stepping up efforts by strengthening neighbourhood policing, increasing patrols in rural areas, and introducing new fly tipping enforcement powers.
