DWP Questions: Jobs Plus Pilot Scheme

In my last life, before I entered politics, I worked closely with the DWP and campaigned heavily on improving employment support opportunities for people across the country, and to make it easier for people to access employment support. Our current system is broken, and is letting down the very people we should be trying to help. If you’ve ever tried to access employment support you already know this.

Yesterday, I asked the Minister if the Jobs Plus Pilot scheme - which is based on a model in the USA that I worked to bring to the UK, will be extended to Suffolk Coastal. The pilot is already providing employment opportunities for thousands of people in the UK, and is exactly the kind of initiative we need to tackle long-term unemployment and give local people the opportunities they deserve to thrive. I’m looking forward to working with the Minister to make this happen.
