Briefing on the Water (Special Measures) Bill

Yesterday in Parliament, I attended a briefing on the Water (Special Measures) Bill, where I had the opportunity to meet with experts, stakeholders, and activists. It’s clear that our current system of water ownership and governance is falling short of delivering the clean water and reliable sewerage services that the public rightfully expects.

I’m optimistic about the changes this Bill could bring. It’s a crucial opportunity to address these challenges and ensure our rivers, lakes, and seas are safe, sustainable, and fit for both people and wildlife. We need stronger, more effective action to make this a reality.
